My Top 3 Foundations

By Nikoleta Ljuljdjuraj - 10:56 AM

Hello my lovelies,
Hope your having a great day! Now I am working during the summer season because of my college I have to do the co-op. I don’t have much time as I thought but I will keep posting as much as I can. I really hope you are enjoying every day of summer. I am writing about my Top/ Best 3 Foundations that I’ve been loving lately. All three of them are amazing two of them are from drugstore, which is amazing.
 Love you all,
 Nikoleta xoxo.

1.      Bourjois 123 Perfection Foundation

The Bourjois 123 Perfection Foundation is a medium-thick liquid that dries as a powder with a matte finish which I prefer. The slight powdery finish feels light on the skin, and does not look cakey or unnatural even when layered on. Two layers is the maximum I go, but one would usually be enough. It is quickly absorbed into the skin and gives a second skin sensation so that it feels light and comfortable to wear throughout the day. This natural-looking foundation also exhibits less tendency to oxidize on my skin. Bourjois 123 Perfection Foundation in shade 52 is just right for me (MAC NC20-25). This foundation would, however, not sit well for those with drier skin as it does not give the dewy look that people with dry skin often look for. For people with oily skin, or even normal-combination skin THIS IS DOPE. Boasting 3 correcting pigments to sort out all imperfections – yellow to conceal dark circles, mauve to perk up dull complexions, green to soften any redness on the face – the first thought that came to find when I first saw it was ‘REAL OR NOT?!’
1.      Yellow pigments – for anti-dark circles
2.      Mauve pigments - for anti-dull complexion
3.      Green pigments – for anti-redness

2.      L'oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation

Pro-Matte comes in 8 shades and there is also a Pro-Matte powder available in 8 shades. They're a bit on the expensive side for a drugstore product at $13.79 each (at CVS) but I've found that in general, L'oreal has become much more expensive than the other drugstore brands, and has been for quite a while now.
This comes in a squeeze tube that's semi-see-through to help with shade selection. The only problem is that it's not 100% see-through, the tube has been mattified and that sort of gives it a translucent effect, but not completely transparent. Just looking at the tubes, there didn't seem to be much variation in the shades.
So I ended up going by the names and selected 102 Shell Beige because typically when a foundation shade has the word "shell" in its name, it's a cooler, pink-toned color, whereas shades with the word "warm" or "golden" tend to be yellow-based. The back of the tube says that the finish is demi-matte, it wears up to 24 hours, has medium coverage, and has an air-light texture. The foundation is definitely very lightweight...it dries extremely fast and just melts in like a second skin. So when I apply this, I have to work in small sections.  The tube says to apply it with your fingers in a rolling motion, but I typically use a Beauty Blender or Real Techinques sponge to get a more flawless effect.  I've found that with dry skin, using a damp sponge also helps to minimize flaking.
Overall, I really love this foundation! It's super lightweight and undetectable on the skin and it covers fairly well.  I love the finish because it's matte without being dull or flat.  It also has no scent so those who are sensitive will like that as well.

3.      Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

The Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation is just as the name describes - a luminous silk foundation. The texture is gorgeous, silky and creamy and blends even more seamlessly. A little goes a long way with this number.
The finish is satin-velvet - a semi-matte - perfect for those with my skin type. It lasts very well as it dries down to the semi-matte finish after a few seconds after blending. The coverage is medium and buildable, and works very, very well mixed together with the Giorgio Armarni Fluid Sheers (I have #1) to create a brightened, pearl finish. On my skin this lasts me over at least 10 hours but requires 1-2 touch ups.
The packaging is beautiful, sophisticated and very solid and durable without being too heavy. The GA logo on the cap is just another one of their luxurious touches for our guilty pleasure.
The reason this is #3 on my list is because although the texture is very silky, it is a little too creamy for my liking. I can feel the foundation is there. However, perhaps I have just not figured out the most effective way of applying this foundation. Another personal con includes the slight sunscreen-ish scent. Also note that this foundation does not contain SPF.

Which are some of your top/best foundations? Any recommendation to try a new one?
