Hello my lovelies,
Today, I would like to share my thoughts and
swatches of five gorgeous Chanel Rouge Allure Lipsticks with you. I
purchased them quite a while ago but I didn’t have time to take lip swatches of
them and so, this post took an awfully long time to see the light.
I hope you will enjoy all the pictures in
this post.
Late last year, Chanel reformulated
their Rouge Allure lipstick range and relaunched them as Luminous
Intense Lip Colour with a wide array of hues from beiges to reds to plums.
Each Chanel Rouge Allure
retails at S$46 for 3.5g of product, made in France.
88 ÉVANESCENTE
This is the lightest shade I picked from the
set. In recent years, I find it increasingly difficult to wear nude shades so I
basically gave all the beiges a miss except this one. Unless I have very bold,
deep smokey eyes on, I avoid having nude lips because I feel so “dead”.
Nonetheless, I find Évanescente
a very beautiful, sparkling nude beige – a timeless number for a pair of
classic smokey eyes on an evening out. Imagine a long, flowy black satin dress
and a bright red clutch to go along with the look.
One of my favourites is this modern and
glamorous pop of fuchsia. This shade is not as bold as some of the bright
popular pinks from other brands. I find this shade wearable and pretty
understated but strong enough to leave an impression.
And personally, I find this
shade of pink flatters my skin tone very well. It sort of brightens up my
complexion and make me look “alive”, don’t you think?
93 EXALTÉE
One of my favourites is this modern and
glamorous pop of fuchsia. This shade is not as bold as some of the bright
popular pinks from other brands. I find this shade wearable and pretty
understated but strong enough to leave an impression.
And personally, I find this
shade of pink flatters my skin tone very well.
98 COROMANDEL
Next, we have a crisp, sharp and glistening
orange-red. I have done a look featuring this lip colour together with its
matching nail colour. I love
having Coromandel on my tips because it brightens up my hands and
fingers beautifully.
On the lips, this shade of
hue depends greatly on rest of the makeup I have on face because it can look
nice and bright but also pretty dull at the same time. I guess the orange
undertone is the tricky part.
99 PIRATE
Another one of my favourite shades from the
set. This shade comes with a matching nail colour too. I love both although I
have not tried wearing them together. They are both individually stunning on
their own and I can see myself pairing them together with a classic winged
eyeliner.
Pirate
bears a pretty strong blue undertone so I suggest you try this shade on
personally before committing.
This shade is a very sexy,
grown-up kind of red I feel. And I will wear it with very minimum makeup for a
date night, probably with a little black dress.
109 ROUGE NOIR
Last but not least, we have the deepest shade
of the lot – Rouge Noir. Again, this shade comes with a matching nail
colour which for some reason, I have not featured on this blog before.
Anyway, I had the hardest time deciding on
this shade. Part of me would like to explore wearing such a deep, vampy shade
but I know – for sure, I will not wear it out on its own. Unless it’s Halloween
or some themed event. However, with deep shades like this, there’s always a
room for toning it down.
I start off by applying
Rouge Noir with a lip brush. The colour is intense but I blot it with
tissue once. After blotting, I go in with another layer and blot again. I love
how it looks and I am glad I purchased it.
These new Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous
Intense Lip Colours are silky in texture, smooth and glides perfectly onto
the lips. They are intense in colour and applies evenly. Each of these shades
provide a luminous finish, as if my lips are naturally hydrated.
They don’t dry out my lips and my lips still
feel comfortable after the entire day.
I wouldn’t say they are
long-lasting but the darker hues do leave a mild stain behind. They are
lightweight and yes, I love the formula. And of course the packaging.
Overall, I am very impressed with all of them
in terms of quality and colour payoff. Of course, I like Exaltée, Pirate
and Rouge Noir most – but they are still many colours I have not tried.
I am very happy with the colours I have
picked. Each adds a different “flavor” and changes a look tremendously.
Which
colour interests you the most from this set? Do you think you will pick up Rouge Noir?
Nikoleta Lj, xoxo.
