Hello my lovelies,
Makeup and skin care are both things that I’m really
interested in, and I like taking the time to choose my products wisely,
investing a little bit extra cash if necessary. Despite promising to (more
than) a few times, I have never featured any beauty posts on the blog before,
so I feel it’s time for a change! Now that July is finally here, lets recap on
some of my favourites from the previous month.
I started using cleansing oils for the first time this
year, and I honestly don’t think I could ever go back to using a regular
cleanser now! Oil cleansing feels so luxurious and relaxing, and it’s also a
fantastic makeup remover for both skin and eyes. You really feel like you are
taking every bit of makeup off your skin, and it doesn’t take much longer than
a regular non-oil cleansing method. This month I started using this Skin Perfection cleansing oil by L’Oreal,
and I am so impressed with it! Many cleansing oils can be quite expensive, but
this one was an absolute bargain at around €10. It’s super quick to take off
all my makeup after a long day, and it doesn’t leave an oily residue on my
skin, which is an added bonus!
Another product I have been loving this month (and many
months before, mind you) is the MAC Pro longwear paint pots,
particularly the neutral “Painterly” shade.
These little pots of wonder act as the perfect eyeshadow base, and can also be
worn as an eye colour on their own. I apply mine all over my lids and up to my
eyebrows, and it instantly neutralises any redness and gives me a nice even
base to work with. I also use a shimmery paint pot in the shade “Bare Study” as a highlighter under my
brows and all over the eyelid. I quite literally use these two products everyday,
and I can’t recommend them enough!
I recently went on
the hunt for the Holy Grail a foundations; something that could gave me
great, all-day coverage without drying out my skin or looking too heavy. So
many of you recommend Estee Lauder’s double-wear foundation,
and I cannot thank you enough guys – it’s the best! I stays put all day long
without looking dry or cakey, and it holds up really well while filming. I blend
it into my skin with a good foundation brush, which I really think gives it
that flawless finish that I love so much. I don’t need or want heavy foundation
coverage everyday, so I don’t wear this product 7 days a week, but it’s there
for me when I’m doing anything that involves a camera flash or a record button,
and it ticks all the boxes
Finally, another product that I’ve been loving this month
is the Rimmel Apocolips lip lacquer, which is like a
mix between a gloss and a lipstick. The colour payoff is FANTASTIC, and they
stay put for hours upon hours, without drying your lips out! They somehow
achieve a finish that is matte, but with a hint of gloss, don’t ask me how! I
have one nudey-pink shade, “101 Celestial”
and another brighter pink, “303 Apocaliptic”
shade, and I love them both! I must remember to pick up some more shades soon,
as they’re cheap as chips, and I’m sure the rest of the range will be just as
good.
What are your
favourite beauty products right now? I’d love to hear your recommendations!
Nikoleta Lj, xoxo.
